Finding Purpose in Jewelry: A Journey of Transformation
Where I am now, is very far from where I started. Entering college, the only passion that I knew was music. Most of my time had been dedicated to the marching arts, which I credit for a significant amount of my personal development. Alongside my love for music, I believed at the time that my career calling was the medical field. For my first semester of college, this was something that I pushed myself to be passionate about but as time went on, I could sense that my heart simply wasn't there. Truthfully, I was uncertain of the path that I desired to walk and to make my personal situation even more complex, our nation was hit with a treacherous virus. My hope dwindled upon the start of our nationwide quarantine but I would later find out that this quarantine would alter my life in ways that I could not foresee.
My love and passion for the realm of jewelry started shortly after the outbreak of Covid-19. Being in the house for as long as I was, I found myself developing new interests that were once faint shadows in the back of my mind. My days were filled with musical activity and my nights were filled with extensive research of precious metals, luxury watches, and current fashion trends. A lengthy (and expensive) line of impulsive jewelry purchase brought me to the conclusion that I may have a serious passion for jewelry. After many weeks of analyzing the jewelry industry, I decided to make a trip to my local jeweler, shortly after their reopening, to discuss my newfound passion. The insight and advice that I received from them was advice changed my life to say the least.
Upon my departure from the local jewelry store, I came to a realization that the very first step for me to live out my passions was to apply to work at a jewelry company. The moment that nationwide safety guidelines allowed for it, that is exactly what I did. I secured my first job working with a reputable jewelry company in my second year of college and gained an extraordinary amount of knowledge. The knowledge that I gained from my experiences there not only taught me about the many facets of the jewelry industry, but also provided me with an abundance of skills that would carry over into my life outside of work. Among those skills was the art of connection and being able to see people wherever they are at in their personal journey. This brings me to the conception of Crown Counsel.
My time thus far in the jewelry industry has shown me beautiful industrial characteristics as well as things that need to change. Crown Counsel was created to be that change. Too often in this industry, people are either told that they do not have the resources to afford a piece that is "good enough" or they are cheated due to their high financial status. At Crown Counsel, we will deliver the necessary guidance to ensure that these practices stop. Using my education in Entrepreneurship, I built this company not for myself, but for each and every individual that sees power in expression through fashion.
